Privacy Policy

Effective date: 24 July 2026

1. Data controller (who is responsible)

InspireWorks Lab is a leadership-development practice based in Costa Rica, offering executive mentoring, corporate training, workshops, keynote speaking, events with online ticketing, and a member community. For the purposes of Costa Rica's Ley N.º 8968 (Protección de la Persona frente al tratamiento de sus datos personales) and its Reglamento (Decreto Ejecutivo N.º 37554-JP), InspireWorks Lab is the party responsible ("responsable") for the personal data described here.

You can reach us about this policy or to exercise your data-protection rights through the contact form on this website, the WhatsApp button in the site header and footer, or by email at info@inspireworkslab.com.

2. What personal data we collect

We collect the data you provide directly: through the contact form (typically your name, email and message); when you subscribe to the newsletter (email and language preference); when you create a member account or purchase (name, email, and the account/order details Wix processes); when you book a session or buy an event ticket (the guest details the booking or ticket form requires); and when you post in the member community (your profile name, photo if you add one, and the content you publish).

We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal data ("datos sensibles") as defined in article 9 of Ley N.º 8968 — such as health, racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical convictions, or sexual life or orientation — and we ask that you not submit such data through our forms or community. Payment card data is handled by Wix's payment processors and is not stored by us.

3. Purposes and consent

Under articles 4 and 5 of Ley N.º 8968, processing is based on your informed consent and your right to informational self-determination. We use your data only for the purposes for which you provided it: to respond to your enquiries; to send the newsletter you requested; to provide the mentoring, training, events, tickets and membership you engage; to operate and moderate the community; to process payments and issue confirmations; and to comply with legal and accounting obligations.

Providing your data is voluntary, but some data is necessary to deliver a given service — for example, we cannot reply to a contact request without an email, or issue a ticket without the buyer's details. Where data is required for a service, declining to provide it means we cannot deliver that service. You may withdraw your consent at any time (see section 7).

4. Third parties, processors and transfers

Our website and member/commerce features run on Wix, which processes data on our behalf as our technology provider; payment, email-delivery and ticketing functions are handled by Wix and its sub-processors solely to provide those services. Because these providers operate internationally, your data may be processed outside Costa Rica. Consistent with article 14 of Ley N.º 8968 and article 40 of its Reglamento, any transfer of your personal data requires your express consent, which you give by using these services after being informed here; we do not sell your data or share it for third-party marketing.

5. Security

As required by article 10 of Ley N.º 8968 and articles 32–37 of its Reglamento, we and our providers apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data against loss, unauthorized access, alteration or destruction — including access controls, encrypted transport (HTTPS), and limiting access to those who need it. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep these measures current.

6. Retention

We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purpose for which it was collected, or as required by tax, accounting or other legal obligations. Consistent with the data-quality principle in article 6 of Ley N.º 8968, we do not keep data longer than necessary, and personal data older than ten years is generally deleted unless the law requires otherwise. You may ask us to delete your data earlier (see section 7).

7. Your rights (acceso, rectificación, actualización, eliminación)

Under article 7 of Ley N.º 8968 you have the rights of access, rectification, updating and deletion ("habeas data") over your personal data, as well as the right to withdraw consent to its transfer. To exercise any of these, contact us through the channels in section 1. As the law requires, we will respond free of charge within five business days. You may also complain to PRODHAB (Agencia de Protección de Datos de los Habitantes), the Costa Rican data-protection authority, at prodhab.go.cr.

8. Cookies

Our site uses cookies that are strictly necessary to function and, where applicable, cookies that require your consent. How we use cookies, and how to accept, reject or withdraw consent, is explained in our Cookie Policy.

9. Minors

Our services are intended for adults. In Costa Rica the age of majority is eighteen (Código Civil, article 37). We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors without the consent of their parents or legal guardians; if you believe a minor has provided us data without such consent, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Database registration, governing law and changes

Ley N.º 8968 (article 21) and its Reglamento require the registration with PRODHAB of databases that are distributed, disseminated or commercialized. We operate our data for our own internal use and do not commercialize it; where a registration obligation applies, we will comply and update this policy accordingly. This policy is governed by the laws of Costa Rica. We may update it as our services or the law evolve, and will post the revised version here with its effective date.
